Driving the transformation of the division's global sales organization into an agile, opportunity-driven powerhouse Our client is a leading global provider of electric driven machines, components and digital service solutions for industrial applications. Headquartered in Southern Germany, the company operates in around 50 countries. Its products and solutions serve customers across industries including chemicals, energy, mining, oil & gas, water management, and manufacturing. As part of its continued strategic development, our client is seeking an exceptional executive to lead and transform the global sales organisation of the Aftermarket division into a proactive, fast-moving growth engine. The position is based at the German headquarters and requires on-site presence. Regular international travel (at least 25%) is also part of the role.
Challenge:
As Senior Vice President Sales Excellence & Transformation, you will transform the division's global sales organization from reactive order-taking to a proactive, agile powerhouse—driving lead-to-order excellence and profitable growth. Reporting directly to the Division President, you will set the global sales agenda across target segments, channel mix, and key account approaches, and shape the go-to-market strategy in alignment with sales executives from adjacent divisions. From there, you will turn the strategy into well-resourced annual plans for each country and region, holding the organization accountable for order intake and safeguarding price and margin realization as well as discount discipline. You will own the end-to-end sales process as one governed global process, backed by clear standards, funnel KPIs, reliable CRM and forecasting data, and performance benchmarking that turns best practice into the norm. You will personally lead the most important customer relationships, take ownership of customer satisfaction and NPS, and direct the global marketing and e-commerce agenda, ensuring that market insights flow back into product development. Above all, you will build the team that delivers: developing leaders and sales specialists across countries, keeping the organization lean with short decision paths, and fostering a culture of customer centricity, ownership, and value creation.
Qualification profile:
We are looking for a sales-driven transformation leader with a university degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a comparable discipline and a proven track record of leading international sales organizations in the aftermarket or lifecycle services business, gained in an industrial or software environment. You have successfully transformed a global sales organization from reactive to proactive, shifting from responding to incoming requests towards systematic, installed-base-driven demand generation and value-based selling. You know how to bring international sales teams on the journey and persistently drive the adoption of new ways of working, KPIs and tools. You bring deep expertise in modern sales processes, methods, and tools, including lead-to-order and funnel management, and CRM- and KPI-based steering, and you have led global order intake. You scale sales through standardized, repeatable selling motions rather than headcount. With an entrepreneurial, analytical mindset, strong cross-cultural management skills and fluent business English, you build senior customer relationships and key accounts and inspire teams to challenge the status quo, making you a trusted and visionary role model, coach, and sales executive.
Offer:
Our client offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a global technology business by transforming its grown corporate structures into a highly customer-centric, performance-driven commercial engine with best-in-class sales, pricing and customer management capabilities. The role combines significant strategic influence with substantial entrepreneurial freedom and an executive compensation package reflecting the importance of the position.
